Welcome to Mason Texas Habitat for Humanity

Located in the Texas Hill County approximately 100 miles West of Austin, we are a small but strong all volunteer affiliate of HFH International. We build one new home each year and also do one or more A-Brush-With-Kindness projects each year.  All of our new homes are green built and Energy Certified.

Beacuse of Mason's scenic countryside, gentle winters, friendly folks, and building green homes for partners we have become a very popular destination for RV Care-a-Vanners who come from around the country to help us build each new home. Local and regional volunteers help prepare for each build, as well as doing ABWK projects.

Mason Habitat Goes Solar

Green Building Presentations

Keith Kaan, Home Designer and Building Supervisor, recently made a presentation at the Habitat Care-a-Vanner 25th Anniversary in Springfield Mo. The talk was entitled "Building a High Performance, Sustainable, & Affordable Homes".  It focused on how the Mason County HFH affiliate reduces utility expenses by 50-90% with a payback of less that 2 years.   As of this year, we now have a house with 100% reduction in electricity with the addition of solar panels to make it a net-Zero home.  See the presentation on the website located on the Construction Green Building tab.
